Ray of Hope through NFI!

NICU care can be extremely expensive, especially for families from low-income backgrounds. Costs can include hospitalization, medications, special therapies, and follow-up care.

Many families living below the poverty line may not have health insurance or sufficient coverage, making it difficult to bear the high costs of medical care for a NICU baby.

This is the story of B/o Sudharani and Roshan . Married for 5 years with a 2.5 year’s healthy daughter , the parents were very hopeful about their 2nd one too to complete their beautiful family ! But on November 1st they were in shock when Sudharani delivered a baby girl preterm through C-Section.

Roshan being the only earning member at a local bank with a very decent salary was finding it difficult to reach the expenses of NICU for his 2nd daughter. The parents were going through a lot emotionally and financially.

This was the time when Namma Shishu Raksha , Bidar , counselled them about Neonates Foundation of India and how the organisation helps NICU babies with financial support.

Finally , the case was presented before the DRC committee , where the case was approved and today Sudharani and Roshan are home happy with both their daughters!

Even after discharge from the NICU, babies may require follow-up care. It’s important for parents to know about any available financial assistance or social services to support the child’s health in the long term.
While the situation may feel overwhelming, it’s important to stay hopeful. Many babies who spend time in the NICU grow up to be healthy and thrive, especially with the right care and support from their families and organisations like Neonates Foundation of India!
