Baby of Charita and Mahesh
NFI – A Ray of Hope for NICU Babies!
Donations and financial aid programs can help cover the costs of NICU care, allowing families in low socio-economic status to focus on their baby’s health rather than financial worries.
Charita and Mahesh’s son was born on 12th August 2024 . Unfortunately the baby born very pre-term , faced a lot of complications – Very Preterm (30 weeks) / LBW (1.6 kg) / RD since birth – RDS / Early onset Sepsis / Chest X-Ray to decide surfactant / developed NEC Stage III / underwent primary peritoneal drainage.
Due to these many complications , the baby was to be in the hospital for more than a month. This worried Charita and Mahesh a lot . Enjoying the birth of their little one was shaded by the worry of arranging the money for NICU treatment of the baby.
Mahesh being a lorry driver and Charita being a homemaker , found it very difficult to handle this situation and with a heavy heart were ready to take the baby even back home and leave it to God.
However, Aditi Hospital’s timely counseling and also explaining to them about an organisation like Neonates Foundation of India which supports NICU treatment for lower income families , gave them a ray of hope.
The case was immediately referred to NFI and after due checking of the documents and approval process by the Committee , they was provided with decent amount of funding .
The baby was discharged after some days. The parents were very thankful to NFI for the financial support we have done. see here
Raising awareness about NICU care in low socio-economic strata is crucial for improving health outcomes for newborns and supporting families during a challenging time. So , also awareness about organisations like Neonates Foundation of India , for whom the main aim and cause is to support such families should also be increased.
